Arona Skin African Black Soap Facial Cleanser

The Arona Skin African Black Soap Facial Cleanser is an organic and handmade facial cleanser. In this blog post, I’m going to help you figure out if this is a cleanser you would like to try.

Firstly, let’s talk about the ingredients.  The Arona Skin African Black Soap Facial Cleanser is made of all-natural ingredients: Pure African Black Soap [obviously!], peppermint oil, apple cider vinegar and rosehip oil. Now, let me break down what that means for you and your skin.

Pure African Black Soap is traditionally used for treating skin concerns such as acne, skin irritations and discolouration- if any of these is a skin concern for you, this ingredient alone would make this product worth trying out. It also contains well-known skincare favourites such as shea butter- making it a good product to use daily. You also get the benefits in the form of vitamins from African Black Soap, it contains Vitamin A and E and well as many plant extracts which makes it an abundant source of antioxidants and gives you a wide range of nourishment.

The next ingredient is peppermint oil- a popular ingredient in natural skin care products because it contains menthol, which provides an automatic soothing sensation, perfect to heal rosacea, oily skin, puffiness or irritation. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, this is an ingredient that your skin will love.

Apple Cider Vinegar also makes an appearance on the ingredient list- you’re probably thinking this is a mistake because its VINEGAR, but no, it’s on the ingredient list- so let’s talk about it. In the natural and organic skincare community, apple cider vinegar is actually widely used in multiple ways- as a toner, a face wash and even as a spot treatment. You may be wondering, “IS THIS SAFE?!”. And yes, it is. Am I saying go buy apple cider vingear and rub it all over your face and call it a day? No! Apple Cider Vinegar, when diluted, is safe and has many benefits- my favourite one being it balances the skins pH levels. Other benefits are: it tightens the skin, unclogs pores and removes access oils.

The last ingredient I’m going to dive into today found in the Arona Skin African Black Soap Facial Cleanser is: Rosehip oil. This is an ingredient that really ties this product together. Rosehip oil contains a large amount of essential fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acid- so, what does this mean? It helps the skin easily absorb the oil, allowing its antioxidants to travel deep into the skin’s layers. This helps to hydrate dry and itchy skin.

Now that you understand the basic reasons to the formula, lets talk about its price, texuture and smell.

This product retails for R190, here on which is a good price for an all natural product that is locally produced. The cleanser has a gel-like consistency that foams up as you wash your face. The smell is a mix between the african black soap and the pepermint oil- it smells fresh and lovely. This product definelty leaves your skin feeling clean and ready for the rest of your skincare routine.

Make sure to use a good moistureiser and spf to keep your skin hydrated and healthy throughout the day or night until your next face wash sesh.

That brings us to the end of this review and blog post my angels. Don’t forget to wash your hands and wear your SPF! Let me know what other products and brands you’d like me to review next.
